He’s Waiting for You |
|
This is precious Ai Zhe, born March 2005, with a cleft lip and
palate and a malformed right arm. He was abandoned in
Guangdong Province and on February 22, 2006, Ai Zhe was
one of the first children welcomed to True Children’s Home.
During his 18-month stay at True Children’s Home, Ai Zhe had
cleft lip and palate surgery. He transitioned to foster care and
is currently in the Little Sister Program through Half the Sky
Foundation. This little tiger is interested in sporting activities
and just recently learned to ride a bicycle. Ai Zhe needs a family
to surround him with love and acceptance, and to encourage
him in all of his childhood pursuits.

While True Children’s Home is not involved in the adoption
process, we have received permission from the originating
orphanage to publicize the status of Ai Zhe. If you or someone
you know would welcome Ai Zhe to your family, please
contact Jenny Smith, True Children’s Home Executive Director,
at jennys@truechildrenshome.org. |

Medical Team Visits True Children’s Home |
| |
 |
Doctors, internists, ICU staff, and an anesthesiologist
from Guangzhou Children’s Hospital
accompanied the Hospital Director on a
visit to True Children’s Home. The staff
came to conduct exams on children with
heart defects. It is helpful for the children to
see and interact with the medical staff in their
home environment. |

Custom Comfort |
| |
| All of the caregivers at True Children’s Home are required to have cheery dispositions,
a nurturing personality and the ability to comfort children of various
ages in a variety of circumstances. Some caregivers also bring a special skill
to share. Such is Liu Shu Lan who has been with True Children’s Home since
March 2006. Described as a “warm-hearted person and a good caregiver,” Li
Shu Lan also excels at knitting. Recently she used her talent to knit socks for
the children to keep their little feet warm. She also brought sweaters for the
children. |

Looking Cute in New Clothes
Yu Zhu (left) and Yu Xiong (right) were recently in the hospital for anal
atresia surgery. They shared a room with six other pediatric patients.
The mother of one of the other children was so touched that she bought
an outfit for Yu Xiong and gave money to the caregiver to buy girl clothes
for Yu Zhu. The caregiver was able to purchase this cute pink and black
outfit and several bibs for the children. |

Ted Yang
Known as “Mr. Fix It,” Ted Yang has played an important role in
making sure that the children at TCH are cared for in a safe environment.
When things break or we have new items to install, Ted is
ready and willing to help, from installing locks, hinges and electrical
outlets, to repairing cabinets. Ted Is also great at putting together
high chairs, play pens and strollers, hanging pictures, and caulking
sinks and faucets. Ted is a hard worker with lots of energy. Ted
Yang, you are a True Hero! |

Wei You
Wei You was adopted this month by
a family from the U.S. She is shown
here with her mother, father and two
brothers (left). It was a tearful farewell
for Wei You’s foster parents
(right). While foster parents offer
their home and love with the under-standing
that the situation is temporary,
it is difficult not to become attached
to the children.

| Adoptive Parents of Alumni of True Children’s Home-China, an online group exclusive to families who have adopted, or
have a referral for, a child who spent time at TCH. We hope to grow into a positive, supportive community that will foster
relationships with the families of TCH’s “brothers and sisters,” while discussing travel, continuing medical care at home
and general China adoption topics. We would also like to find ways to help TCH with fundraising. If you have a picture
of your child on a “boppy pillow”, your child might be a TCH alumni! |
