Happy Chinese New Year!

TCH celebrated Chinese New Year with the foster care children and their foster mothers. Each foster child
received a red envelope containing lucky money, a new outfit and a bag of goodies. The foster families each
received a bag of rice and a new pair of shoes for the foster mother and foster father.

Super “Scrapper”

TCH recently received the note below. Thanks to Valorie Stackpole for creating these treasures for the children and their families. You are a True Hero!

“I want to thank you for the picture scrapbook you gave to us when we adopted Samm. Samm has been struggling with his speech therapy and has been so discouraged that he does not sound like his friends. Dick and I sat down with him and showed him the pictures you took of him when he had his surgery and explained to him why he has difficulty talking at times. These pictures were so helpful and now he is so proud to show everyone the pictures of his surgery ‘when they fixed the hold in my palate.’ Obviously, we treasure these photos, but they also really helped us explain a difficult thing to him.

Arianna (Xinche)

I thought there might be some people who would like to see how Arianna is coping with the snow we have gotten this year, which is very unusual. We only get 4 inches yearly, and so far have bad almost 15! Arianna loves to sled, as long as she does not have to walk in it. She also wants to go All By Herself!!

Robby (Gang Gang)

Robby loves to swim!

His 11-year-old sister collected baby items at her
recent birthday party and donated them to True
Children’s Home.

Lilah (Xin En)

We wanted to send an update on how Lilah (Xin En) is doing now that she has been a part of our family for six months.

Lilah has settled in very well and is an amazing little girl. She is very social and has loved making many new friends, starting Sunday school, joining a Mandarin class and getting to know her three brothers and her older sister (who all love and adore her)! Lilah loves to color, play with play dough and read books. She is a very smart little girl and makes us laugh with the things that she comes up with!

Lilah has learned so many new things in the last six months. She speaks in English all the time and in full sentences. She loves to sing and dance and dress-up in pretty clothes. She has learned her colors, shapes, numbers and she is learning to dress herself. She has adjusted well to our Canadian food and loves to eat!

She also just got glasses. Little pink ones and she is very proud of them She looks adorable!
