Another New Partner for TCH!
TCH can now accept donations in Hong Kong Dollars

True Children's Home is excited to announce our affiliation with Captivating International, a non-profit organization working in China to "elevate children out of poverty giving them the chance to reach out for a better tomorrow". While True Children's Home and Captivating International remain separate entities, we are both committed to making a difference in the lives of orphans in China.

With this new partnership we have the ability to also accept donations in Hong
Kong Dollars. Visit www.truechildrenshome.org and click on "Donate" and
then "Donate to US on ammado". Under the "Amount" use the drop down menu to
find Hong Kong Dollars. Choose this currency and then proceed with the amount
and method. In the "Add a Message" section be sure to indicated "True Children's Home". All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Dedicated Volunteer

Monique Mole moved to Dongguan 16 months ago with her husband and two children. She is excited to have the opportunity to volunteer at True Children's Home. Initially she focused her time on interacting with the children and helping them reach developmental milestones, picking up supplies for TCH, collecting and delivering donated items and transporting children to the hospital. Most recently, Monique has been devoting her time to supporting Treasures of Hope, an outlet store located in Dongguan whose proceeds benefit True Children's Home. Monique has utilized her background in marketing to increase awareness for the store and generate donations. The heartwarming smiles of the children at True Children's Home is the inspiration for this True Hero to dedicate her time and energy to make a difference in the children's lives. Monique Mole, you are a True Hero!

Theodor (Zhi Yang)

Dear Friends,

Greetings from Sweden and our son Theodor (Zhi Yang). Theodor is a very happy little boy who is very happy that the snow and the cold winter weather have finally disappeared, and that spring and warmer weather are now coming. He really likes to be outside and to discover all the things in our neighborhood. He likes to run and climb. He has a good appetite and his physical growth is normal.

We wish you all a Happy Easter Holiday!

Matthan (Jin Ping)

Matthan (Ping) is officially a 4 year old now. I can't believe how fast the time has flown by. He was just 20 months a few weeks ago right? :) He is attending preschool and doing well. He became a big brother this past Christmas and loves it. He says Micah is his best bud. He is still my little genius and I have a hard time keeping up with him:) He amazes me with how his brain works. He still looks at the baby book we were given and has even asked if we can go to China some day to eat Chinese food. We said yes of course!

Hi there,

Things here in Canada, and in our home, are blessed and wonderful. Miah is doing beautifully well, both in her own right and with her "big sister" Angelina and with us too. I wonder, did you notice any musical gifting when Miah was at TCH? We have noticed she has a talent for pitch, rhythm, etc. She seems particularly taken with the piano at church. It will be interesting to see where this leads. Miah is currently very much into the idea of "her birthday” (and also her birthday cake"). Angelina just turned 5 in February and of course Miah was very much a part of that, so she is more than ready for her 3rd birthday this month. We also have Miah enrolled in swimming lessons. It will be interesting to watch her take on that challenge.

God bless - thank you for all that you do.

Jack (Ai Yu )

Dear Friends,

It is hard to believe that our precious Jack (Ai Yu) turned four years old in March. We celebrated by having a costume party at our house. There was no question what Jack wanted to be - a firefighter! In lieu of gifts we asked party guests to consider bringing a donation for True Children's Home.

Jack is doing amazingly well. He wears his hearing aids all day, every day. His speech has become much clearer and his vocabulary gets more varied each week. This fall Jack will keep the same school schedule as this past year - three days a week in the class for hearing impaired preschoolers and two days at a regular preschool. We fully expect him to enter regular Kindergarten in Fall 2011.

We're so fortunate to have a new cleft surgeon who moved to our town. His work and reputation are very good, and we will be looking into Jack's first maintenance procedure on his lip and nose before the end of the year.

We hope you're all doing well! --Jack and his family

Hello,

We would like to let you know that Matt is doing super well. He feels quite at home here and knows our house and neighborhood inside and out. He is a happy little man who knows exactly what he wants, is very funny, social and artistic, and loves to cuddle. Matt likes tinkering and prefers to play outdoors. We hope that the snow will vanish quickly and summer comes soon - so he can play outside in the pool. That is his favorite activity! Water, water, water...he needs to take a bath everyday otherwise his day is not complete.

We are still in contact with the other couples who were with us in China to meet their adoptive children. Being in China was such a special time and the contact with the other couples is very special for all of us.

Out of gratitude for the love and care you gave Matt during his time in China, we certainly would like to stay in touch with True Children's Home. It is so important that all the children get the same love and warmth as Matt enjoyed. They will carry it for the rest of their lives in their hearts. We are very proud of the work you do every day. Matt sleeps every night under the blanket you gave him at the handover. The name Matt means "gift of God" and that is how we experience him every day! Since we wanted Matt to carry his Chinese roots in his name we chose Zhan for his middle name. In a couple of years we certainly want to make a "roots" trip and if possible we would like to show him your home. Until then we wish you and all the children you keep a very bright future with oceans of love and warmth!

Please continue your mission - it's so important for the future of the children!

Many greetings from the Netherlands, --Matt and his family

Matt (Hai Rong)
