PUT ME ON YOUR LIST

After arriving at True Children’s Home in Anji,
Xie Zhen was taken to Hangzhou Dental Hospital.
After examining Xie Zhen, the surgeon
concluded that Xie Zhen’s cleft lip and palate
were so severe that the surgery could not be
performed at that hospital.
Xie Zhen was then taken to Hangzhou Children’s
Hospital where several other children
from Anji TCH have had surgery. After an examination,
the surgeon remarked that he had
never seen a child with such a severe cleft lip
and palate. Though it will be an extensive effort
requiring two to three surgeries, this surgeon
is confident that he can repair Xie
Zhen’s cleft lip and palate. |
|
| |
| Each surgery will cost approximately 20,00 RMB ($2898.55 USD). What a wonderful gift this would
be for someone on your holiday list! |

The word “True” is etched by hand on the back side
of the necklaces, transforming these works of art into
a reminder of the giving spirit of TCH. Each necklace
is hand-painted by Jennifer and Kim thus no two
necklaces are identical. There are three colors and
two styles; they can be ordered on-line using the link
of the TCH website. The proceeds for each purchase
will be donated directly to TCH. A great way
to give the gift that keeps on giving! |

The Monday Morning Prayer Group |
|
| |
The Monday Morning Prayer Group in Conway, South Carolina, decided to make a difference in the lives of
children at TCH. The group organized a yard sale and by sorting, pricing and selling the items collected, they
raised funds to sponsor a child’s surgery. |

| There are many people working together to make a difference in the lives of children that come to TCH. Each
month we will spotlight one of those individuals as our True Hero. |
| |
|
|
 |
 |
 |
|
Our True Heroes are the doctors, surgeons and medical
staff at Guangzhou Children’s Hospital. In October 2007,
a child from our Dongguan children’s home received successful
emergency surgery at this hospital. Many TCH
children have received medical care at Guangzhou Children’s
Hospital since then.
The hospital was founded in 1953 and has become a hub
of medical activity, serving more than 1,000,000 young
patients in 2008. It is renowned for employing highly
skilled doctors. The Stomatology Department has performed
more than 400 cleft lip and palate surgeries this
year, including many children form TCH. This is the only hospital in China |
The nurses of General Surgery with Gang Zai |
|
| that we know of that will perform cleft lip and cleft palate surgery at the same time. The Cardiology
and Cardio-vascular Department has performed more than 200 cardiovascular surgeries this year as
well. Thank you doctors, surgeons and medical staff at Guangzhou Hospital. You are True Heroes! |

| Adoptive Parents of Alumni of True Children’s Home-China, an online group exclusive to families
who have adopted, or have a referral for, a child who spent time at TCH. We hope to grow into a
positive, supportive community that will foster relationships with the families of TCH’s “brothers and
sisters,” while discussing travel, continuing medical care at home and general China adoption topics.
We would also like to find ways to help TCH with fundraising. If you have a picture of your child on a
“boppy pillow”, your child might be a TCH alumni! |
