The Brazilian Women's Association, along with the Dongguan Women's International Club, once again organized a night of fun and donated funds raised to the children as noted in the above published article in Here! Dongguan!

The children and their foster families received moon cakes for the Mid-Autumn Festival celebration.

While foster families may experience separation anxiety when the child leaves their care, adoption is the next step for the child. TCH received the following letter from a foster family to the adoptive family of Hong Cao, a
TCH child who was adopted in September.

The following letter is an example of the love and dedication of all TCH foster families:

Hello,

It's my pleasure to tell you something about my dear daughter Hong Cao. It's hard to believe that our little girl is 5 years old!! She is doing well, she would like to sing songs, dance and play with other children. She can also wear
shoes and dress by herself. We hope she grows up healthy and happy. We think she will adapt to her new environ-ment very well! We love her very much!

Sincerely,
Hong Cao's Foster Family

ELLA

Hi,

We want to tell you that Wen Yi (Ella) is doing very well in our family. We love her very much, and are getting to know each other better and better. She has played a lot in the garden during the summer, and she has also found some friends to play with. She is not saying so many words in Swedish yet, but amazingly quick she has learned to understand most of what we say, when we talk to her. Ella Wen Yi has a charming personality. She seems to be clever and strong, and she knows what she wants. She is not often afraid, but can be really angry when sometimes she can't have things in her own way. Then we were surprised and delighted over that she has a great sense of humor, this we imagine she must have learned from her foster family. She likes to eat, almost any food, and she is sleeping very well at night. So far she sleeps in our bed, but has a room of her own with many toys. We like to play with her. Our friends and the rest of our family love her very much, and they like to come and see her. Her elderly two sisters just adore her.

Of course, we are so happy to have Ella Wen Yi here. When she
is grown, and the time is right, we would love to go back together
to visit her birth place and meet with people. Until then, we want
to give our appreciation and thanks to you at TCH, her foster
mother, foster family and everyone that has given Wen Yi care in
her early days. We will do our best to give her a good life.

Sincerely,

Ella Wen Yi and Family

Huan Huan

Hi,

Thought you'd like to know how our beautiful Huan Huan is doing. She has really taken off since her completion of her Fontan on 8/5. The surgery went really well the surgeon spoke on and on about the phenomenal first surgery that she had in China. She was released after seven short days in the hospital, but unfortunately had to be readmitted just six days later because of fluid accumulation in her pleural cavity. We have been home for over a month now and she is doing exceptionally well. Her color is a gorgeous, bright

pink! Even in the cooler fall weather here she is a pretty pink with no signs of blue! We didn't realize how blue she was until we saw the change! She is even more energetic than before and she runs circles around the first floor of our house yelling, "Hi, Bye, Hi, Bye!" Her English is amazing - she knows the ABCs, counts to somewhere in the mid-teens (she gets really excited and runs them together), LOVES Dora and sings the theme song every chance she gets, dances non-stop with her jiejie Sophia to Hannah Montana, Barney, Sesame Street, or any other music that is on, she LOVES our cats (they like her too - sometimes they need a break though...). Today we spent at least an hour outside chasing squirrels - she loves them and can't understand why they don't stop to spend some time with her! Everyone who meets Huan falls in love with her. She is the happiest, easy going child I have ever met. The only time she gets cranky is when she is tired, and that is cured quickly with a quick back rub and putting her down in "Huan Huan's bed." Thank you so much for all the love and care she received at TCH - we barely remember life before Huan - she is a joy and such a treasure to us.

Sincerely, Huan Huan and Family
