Boys Will be Boys
Cheng Feng loves playing with his blocks and toy cars. He is often found with a book in his hands. His smile never seems to fade. He is optimistic and determined. He is humble and giving. He loves life. He loves doing life with people. Cheng Feng was born with Spina Bifida. Because of his Spina Bifida, Cheng Feng also has paralysis in his lower legs. With the help of the caregivers at TCH and his foster parents, Cheng Feng has learned to walk. In May 2009, Cheng Feng could only stand up then fall down. He would do this over and over and giggle at himself. He can now walk by himself. He sometimes wears braces for support, but is able to walk without them. He can also walk backward and up and down steps holding a rail. Although he is currently in TCH foster care, Cheng Feng's name is mentioned often by TCH staff. His presence continues to make an impression on the hearts of those around him. He is full of love, laughter, and life. Cheng Feng's file is on the shared list with CCAA. Our hope for him this year is to find a forever family.

Maddie (Ai Pian)
In less than 2 weeks we will celebrate our Maddie Aipian's happy adoption day (July 28th, 2008). She is doing so well and loves to talk about how she was adopted from China - "I slept on Mama on the airplane" I will send a photo to you of Maddie and her good friend Liliana (AiLi) also adopted from TCH. They celebrated Chinese New Year together.
Please tell Maddie's foster family that she is doing very well. I have attached a photo of Maddie on a trip to Disneyland in Feb (her first). She wore princess dresses everyday. She loves to dress up and wear her "high
heels."
All best wishes and prayers,
Maddie Aipian and Family

Molly (Yang Su)

Dear Jenny, Katrina and the phenomenal staff of TCH,
As we approach our one year adoption anniversary we would like to update you on our daughter Molly Hope Yangsu (Yang Su). You would be amazed by how much she has blossomed over the past 11 months. She has grown to be a very happy, healthy and rambunctious 2.5 year old who keeps us on our toes. She loves to "read" books, play outside and entertain her big brother and sister. Molly is such a joy to everyone she meets. You will be happy to know that shortly after returning to the US, we visited our local Children's Hospital. Our surgeon was very impressed with the cleft lip repair completed in China. He was also quite confident she will not require any further surgery for a few years. What a blessing! Once again we would like to thank each and every one of you for the love you shared with Molly while she was in the care of True Children's Home. Each of you made a huge impact on her young life and we will remain forever grateful.
With love and deepest gratitude,

Sophie (Qi Tao)

Dear Friends,
Sophie is the love of our lives. It is hard to image life without her. She has blossomed into a happy, well adjusted little girl. Sophie has adjusted to her new family very well. She is an absolute delight to be around. Sophie loves to read books and dress up like a princess. She will have her first surgery soon to correct her nose. I hate for her to have to go through this but it will be good for her in the years to come. Also thank you for the pictures of Sophie. It meant a lot to us and I know that Sophie will love it when she is older and wants to know about her life before she came to us. I will try to get some pictures of her to you.

Sophie (Ai Zhen)
It is hard to believe but we have been home with our daughter Sophie (Ai Zhen) for 1 year. As predicted she has handled the transition very well and has settled in very well. She has adjusted to us and life in the US very easily, and is doing great at pre-school. She is at or above age level in every area - language, physical, social. She has a lot of good friends at school, and seems to have natural leadership ability. With us she is very loving, and is generally a happy well adjusted child.
I have attached a couple of recent photos. If you have the ability to send to her foster mother we would appreciate it. We went thru the photo album you gave us last week on our adoption day and Sophie identified her foster mother and called her mommy with a big smile. It is clear that she still remembers her (we were so surprised!) with a lot of affection.
Thanks for the good care that you and her foster mom gave her. We know that that care was a large part of why our transition with her was so smooth.
Kind regards,
Sophie and Family
